In this blog we discuss about Metal Comma-Seal .....!!!

The Oyster seal  is designed for maximum spring back, and as a consequence is a low load seal. Because of the low load it will only obtain a good tightness with very soft plating or coatings.

There are two types of metal comma-seal :

1) Metal comma-seal for axial pressure and ID dynamic.

2) Metal comma-seal for axial pressure and OD dynamic.

Commaseals are designed for sloe dynamic application on ID or OD.

Tightness : 

The tightness with a commaseal (COL) is more than with any other metal seal a function of the shaft condition. the suface finish of the shaft shall be mirror polished and the hardness shall be high enough so that the sliding motion of seal and shall shaft does not detoriate either of them.

In addition we advise to silver plate commaseal for better tightness, reduced friction and wear.
